SESSION FAQ'S

WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO LOCATED?

My studio is located in the South Granville area of Vancouver, a few blocks from West Broadway, and is easily accessible by transit. There is also ample street parking (both paid and free 2 hour parking) in the surrounding streets.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY LOOKS?

Looks are specific outfit or wardrobe changes that help create the 'character' or style you are aiming to embody for that particular shot. Examples of looks include a "commercial" look, a "dramatic" look, a "hallmark" look, a "procedural" look etc. Specificity is key to successfully achieve differing looks, so I try to avoid just changing colour tops. If you have an agent, it’s important to include them in deciding on what looks you will shoot. Before your shoot, send them a quick email to ask their opinion, as they’re the ones who will be selling you to casting!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING FOR MY SESSION?

Below is an overview of what I recommend bringing:

Options, options, options!  I'd rather you bring a whole big suitcase and have way too many options, than not bring enough! Just make sure they are clean and pressed!

- A variety of tops in different necklines and colours (ie. t-shirts, tank tops, blouses, light sweaters/jackets). Please avoid patterns and logos!! This is important! We want the attention on your face, not your clothes!

- Clothing options that are fitted. It is important to be able to see your form. I do have the ability to pin shirts, however it is preferable to be able to avoid this.

- Different colours! Bringing 5 black tops isn't as helpful as bringing a variety of colours and styles!

- We most likely won't see pants, so just bring a neutral dark pair of jeans or pants! Something you're comfortable in that has pockets is best.

- Please arrive with a clean face and with hair as you would style it for auditions!

- A variety of bras in different colours (nude is ideal) and strapless options (or with no patterns/lace on the bra)

WHAT IF I WEAR MY HAIR BOTH CURLY + STRAIGHT / BEARD + CLEAN SHAVEN?

If you would like to make a big change there are 2 options you can choose from:

- To achieve both in the same session without a make up artist, we will give you 15 mins to achieve this. Please just clearly communicate this when booking so I can plan accordingly.

- If you would like assistance by the make up artist on the hair change, there will be an additional $50 charge to do a complete & full hair change.  Adding a few curls or waves to already strait hair is included in the normal pricing. Note this option is not available for facial hair.

IS A MAKE UP ARTIST REQUIRED?

Although using a make up artist is not required, it is HIGHLY recommended. You're already investing in yourself and your career by investing in quality headshots, so making sure you're looking like the very best version of yourself is important! Your make up artist will make your features POP! while ensuring you look fresh and natural, and accurate representation of how you look.

You should arrive with your hair "camera ready" and your make up artist will add final touch ups to make it camera perfect.

If you prefer to use your own make up artist, you are welcome to do so, but you must come to the shoot camera ready. Your make up artist is welcome to come to your shoot for touch ups and small changes.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY SHOOT?

You will receive a dropbox link with your proofs 24 hours after your shoot. Once you have selected the images you would like edited, you will receive your final edits within 3-5 business days.

WHAT ARE YOUR BOOKING POLICIES

To book your session, simply fill out the CONTACT form, and we will get back to you with available dates and times. To secure your preferred time and date, a non-refundable deposit of $100 is required, and can be transferred by e-transfer or credit card. The remaining amount is payable by cash, e-transfer, or credit card on or before the day. All credit card payments will incur a 2.9% fee.

The make up artist fee is paid directly to the artist, preferably in cash, on the day of your shoot.

I realize life happens, so in the event you need to reschedule your session once it's confirmed, I require a minimum of 5 days notice. Rescheduling with less than 5 days will unfortunately require a new deposit. However, if the rescheduling is due to a booking, please forward confirmation of this from your agent and your deposit will be transferred to your rescheduled session.

In the event you no-show or cancel day-of, you will be charged the full session fee, including make up artist fee. Obviously this isn't something anyone wants, so please communicate any issues you forsee ASAP.
